Hey, you. 🙂
I’m Madelyn. Welcome to the field notes of a woman beginning her self-education in the real world.
After wasting my teenage years doing a whole lot of nothing, I started this blog in 2022 to document the things I learn in an effort to become a well-rounded woman with skills, knowledge, and firsthand experiences. I was done watching everyone else live their lives and ready to start living mine.
So far, I have:
– trained for and attempted to hike the 310-mile Superior Hiking Trail, baby in tow, and quit after three days. (Click HERE for the full story.)
– taken voice lessons for 8 months
– started a foraging journal for plant identification (my new passion!)
– explored Northern California on a month-long road trip with my family (Week 1) (Week 2) (Week 3) (Week 4)
Currently, I’m working on a research project to unravel the truth about a certain point in Western history. This will be followed up by a documented visit to the historic sites.
Here you will find trip reports (Expeditions), skills I learn (Field Skills), and history and book research that broadens the mind or sends me somewhere (History & Reading).
To send me advice on the topics I cover or book recommendations (which I love), email me at madelyn@wellroundedwoman.blog.
